Utrecht Weekend Guide september 15, 16 & 17

•  I would call myself a beer fan and specially a craft beer fan. This weekend Janskerkhof will be turned into Mothers finest craft beer festival for you enjoy beers from over 30 breweries and live music. If you’re looking for some great beers or to get drunk this is definitely your place to go.

•  Pasta afisionados take notes! The Spagettheria is celebrating their 2 year anniversary with a small party. Prosecco and pasta are the main subjects of this evening! Go to Wittevrouwensingle 44 to get your hands on one the delicious pastas they have to offer!

•  First festival editions are either killing it or doomed to fail. Foodnote festival has been a 12 day festival with it’s niche in food. Futuristic food made by robots, fresh meat from flames and lots and lots of beer is what this festival features. This festival was madden collaboration with University of applied sciences Utrecht, science park Utrecht and more to create a festival featuring food trucks, music and more. The festival will end this Sunday and can be visited for free at Genèvelaan.

•  TIP! If you are looking for quite and unknown place which serves great food? Go to SYR at Lange Nieuwstraat 71 for superb Syrian food.

•  In my opinion Sundays are the best for going out in the afternoon. This Sunday (September 17) Stan & Co is hosting GIN&JAZZ which offers you jazz music and delicious gin!

•  TIP! Feeling the need for an extra ordinary breakfast? Into pastries, cakes and pies? Rose & Vanilla at Amstedamsestraatweg 11 is your place to go in the morning.

•. If you live in Utrecht you probably now the IBB, which is shorter for Ina boudier bakkerlaan. Every year there is a big party called IBB-fest which is student related and has over 20 different dj’s and 3 stages.  Looking for a great student party, IBB-fest is your place to go on Saturday September 16.

Calling yourself a bit of a daredevil who likes adventures.? City skydive is offering you a course this saterday with free drinks, free pictures and a lot of fun. It’s not really cheap, but hé … jumping pout of a plane isn’t either.

TIP! Not really into events like the ones above … Rent a Canoe to sail over the canals!

•  Done with all the parties and looking for some rest? Every Sunday at 11 Soia (strand Oog in al) is hosting a yoga session to relax and stretch.

•  Want to know more about the history of Utrecht? DOMunder is a great experience which will take you underground in Utrecht. For the culturals here this is a great way to get to know the history of my favorite town.

•  Although Utrecht doesn’t really have a lot of clubs BASIS is definitely worth doing to. This weekend they will have a variety of Techno artists performing. On Friday DJ’s like Datasmok, Albert van Abbe and more will perform. The line-up for Saturday is a but different with Noneoftheabove, paranoid, ants (live) and more and still definitely worth a try. On both days the party starts at 11 and ends around 5 or 6.

•  TivoliVredenbrug is a place where various artists perform weekly. fortunately next to the artists they host parties every now and then. This Saturday from 11 till 5  it’s Fluff disco XL with the bets turned from the 90’s and 00’s to dance and drink to.

Domplein is a great place to go for a drink. Big Lebowski is probably one of the best known café’s there and they are celebrating their 5th birthday with a 90’s party. Come to Big lebowski at domplein this Saturday to dance to the best 90s hits and celebrate their 5th year of existence.

•  LGBTQI+’s like me like to go to other places. This Friday PANN is hosting their Party at TivoliVredenburg under the name of Unicorns and rainbows. Get to know your fellow LGBTQI+’s at this party and get your Gay groove on.

•  If you live in Utrecht you probably now the IBB, which is shorter for Ina boudier bakkerlaan. Every year there is a big party called IBB-fest which is student related and has over 20 different dj’s and 3 stages.  Looking for a great student party, IBB-fest is your place to go on Saturday September 16.

•  This weekend one of the longest parties from Poema Raw is returning! The 12 hour rave with Dispar Vulgo is happening again. To get in for free you need to know the password which they will leave a tip for in the Facebook event 1 day before the party. Just for the record, Poema raw is at Drieharingstraat 22

A new store of a world famous brand has opened last week in Hoog Catherijne. I’m talking about the new Nike store which is definitely worth a visit!

• Young talent, known brand and a wide variety is what you’ll find at Puha shop. Next to its classic male and female fashion they also sell things like card, books, jewelry and accessories made by over more than 50 young designers. Definitely worth a look at Voorstraat 48.

•  Live Today at Minrebroederstraat 6 is always a nice to go. Next to the furniture they also sell sustainable lifestyle and care products which actually make it into pretty nice gifts. Looking for a nice shop to get someone a present, this is your call.

•   Althought I am a men I know a lot of girls read my blog so Imma include Guts & Gusto! A quite new place in Utrecht which sells you the latest fashion trends for a wallet friendly price. Visit them at Choorstraat 3

•   Galleries are a beautiful place if you’re into art. This Saturday the Opening Gallery from ‘de Pastoe fabriek’ with a furniture exhibition featuring styles from Mondriaan to now. You’ll find the exhibition at ‘de zagerij’ which is located at rotsoord 7a.

•  A Lazy zundgat afternoon @ Park Lepelenburg is an event where you should bring your own plaid and enjoy music, theater and acts from various artists. It’s this Sunday from 1 to 5.

•  Poetry is in my opinion something to admire. Cafe Hofman is hosting a speakers night with the name ‘Mooie Wooden’ on Sunday from 3 to 5 to give people a stage. Speakers with their niches in feminism, theather, student alumni’s and more are speaking at this event.

•  Even more poetry this weekend. The 35th annual ‘Nacht van de Poëzie’ (which means Night of poetry) returns to TivoliVredenburg this Starday from 8 PM till 3AM. With a massive Poetry line-up (over 20 speakers) this is your needed dose of poetry. Find our more here
